Hanoi, (VNA) - Seven Vietnamese athletes are ready to compete at the IRONMAN 70.3World Championship 2019 to be held in Nice, France, on September 7and 8.

The race will featurea swim in the pristine waters of the Mediterranean Sea, a challenging bike rideand a run course along Nice’s historic Promenade des Anglais waterfront.

Athletes will becheered on by the enthusiastic supporters for every mile of the 70.3course.

The Vietnamese athletesinclude Le Thuy, Pham Thuy Vi (female); Tran Toan, Nguyen Anh Tuan,Pham Quang Minh, Le Hoang Vu and Huynh Thanh Duy (male).

Le Thuy earneda ticket after finishing first in the age group of 40-45 of female inthe Techcombank IRONMAN 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship in Da Nang inMay with a time of 6:56.18.

Vi will take part inthe world event after becoming the best female Vietnamese athlete inthe Techcombank IRONMAN 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship 2019 with atime of 5:33.49.

Meanwhile, Minhand Vu also had good results at the IRONMAN 70.3 Subic Bay 2019 andIRONMAN 70.3 Bangsaen 2019, respectively.-VNA
