Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s top badminton player NguyenTien Minh will compete in the Yonex French Open 2017, which begins today inParis.
Olympian Minh is world No 65, forcing him to enter the qualifying round.
There are 16 players competing in the qualifying round, withthe top four entering the main draw.
Minh will face Mark Caljouw of the Netherlands, world No 45today. If Minh wins, he will meet the winner of the match betweenKenta Nishimoto of Japan and Ygor Coelho of Brazil.
The event, which runs until October 29, will have a totalprize fund of 325,000 USD.-VNA

The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.
