Vietnamese chess players win three gold medals at world youth championship

Young Vietnamese chess players won three gold, two silver, and one bronze medals in the rapid chess category at the FIDE World Youth Rapid and Blitz Championships 2023 that is taking place from June 5-12 in Batumi, Georgia.

Hanoi (VNA)🐠 - Young Vietnamese chess players won three gold, two silver, and onebronze medals in the rapid chess category at the FIDE World Youth Rapid and BlitzChampionships 2023 that is taking place from June 5-12 in Batumi, Georgia.

The gold medalists are LeThai Hoang Anh competing in the U12 girls' category, Dau Khuong Duy in the U12 boys' category,and Pham Tran Gia Phuc in the U14 boys' category.

The two silver medals were secured by Dinh Nho Kiet (U14 boys'), and Nguyen Hong Nhung (U18 girls), while the bronze went to Nguyen Nhat Khuong (U8 boys). The 2023 World Youth RapidChess and Blitz Championships attracted a total of 462 players from 35 countriesand territories who are competing in six age categories (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18) for boys and girls. Vietnam sent 11 players tothe tournament. After the rapid event, they will compete in the blitz chess category from June 10-11./.
