Vietnamese culture presented at “Taste of Sambal” fair in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) - Various typical Vietnamese dishes have been presented by the Malaysia - Vietnam Friendship Association at the "Taste of Sambal" fair which was held in Ipoh, Perak state, Malaysia from August 30 - September 2.
The Vietnamese booth with typical dishes such as banh mi (Vietnamese baguettes), bun cha (grilled pork meatballs with vermicelli noodles), nem cuon (fresh spring rolls), coffee and tropical fruit juice attracted fair-goers.
Also at the fair, musical performances and a "ao dai" (Vietnamese traditional dress) show were performed by overseas Vietnamese, with the participation of Miss Intercontinental Vietnam 2022 Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc and Miss Intercontinental Malaysia Lindsey Yap.
Addressing the event, Nguyen Ba Tan, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, said that the Party and State have always paid great attention to the Vietnamese community abroad, considering them an inseparable part of the great nantional unity bloc, an important factor contributing to strengthening cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and Malaysia.
Tan highly appreciated the association’s initiatives to organise activities to connect overseas Vietnamese in Malaysia, thereby building a united community, contributing to promoting cultural exchanges and people-to-people diplomacy between the nations. The event is part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-Vietnam diplomatic relations and the one-year anniversary of the establishment of the Malaysia-Vietnam Friendship Association.
The “Taste of Sambal” fair is an annual Malaysian food festival, showcasing the cultural diversity of this Southeast Asian country. The festival attracts the atte🍎ntion of many good chefs and culinary experts from many countries around🌟 the world./.
With Malaysia having numerous manufacturing and processing facilities and research centres, and Vietnam possessing a young and highly skilled workforce with good professional expertise, the combination of these factors can create myriad development and investment opportunities, said a Malaysian expert.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on July 21 emphasised Malaysia's commitment to promoting green, sustainable, and environmentally friendly economic growth programmes, calling on Vietnamese businesses to further strengthen their cooperation with Malaysian partners in this field.
The first Vietnam-Malaysia local cooperation model between Ho Chi Minh City and Ipoh city of Malaysia was launched by Malaysia-Vietnam Friendship Association (MVFA) at a ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur on August 8 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.

For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.

The cultural event in Canberra not only fostered cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Australia but also contributed to promoting Vietnam’s image internationally
The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
