Vietnamese designer opens show in Malaysia

Designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam has opened a fashion show at the Council of ASEAN Fashion Designers event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Hanoi (VNS/VNA)– Designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam has opened a fashion show at the Council of ASEANFashion Designers event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

He presented the collection Women in Love showing designs made from taffeta,linen, silk, chiffon and velvet. The collection uses strong colours like redand orange.

Nam introduced luxurious gowns designed for international celebrities whoattended the 71st Cannes Film Festival in May.

The collection of ao dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) printed withnational flags and signature heritage of the 22 countries which willparticipate in the Formula One race in Hanoi in April 2020 are on display atthe three-day event in Kuala Lumpur. The collection made a debut early thismonth during a celebration held to announce that the F1 race will be brought toVietnam.

The Council of ASEAN Fashion Designers (CAFD) is an independent non-profitorganisation that facilitates ASEAN fashion and designers in the digitaleconomy.

CAFD is the first ever fashion organisation to be accredited by the ASEAN Secretariat.

This is a supervising council to promote high quality ASEAN fashion, appareland the ASEAN atelier industry moving forward. CAFD is created to impact theworld and to empower its members in making their visions a commercial reality.

Nam said together with performances of Vietnamese signers Vu Cat Tuong andIsaac at the event, they tried to promote Vietnamese culture to theworld.-VNS/VNA
