Hanoi (VNA)🅺 – Vietnamese designer Tran Hung, who recently became a member of the British Fashion Council, will introduce his latest collection with nature - friendly designs at the spring/summer 2021 season of London Fashion Week on September 17-22.

Hung’s “Revival” collection follows the trend of sustainable fashion, using recycled and environmentally friendly fabrics made of silk such as organza, taffeta, chiffon, crepe, satin and habutai.

London Fashion Week posted on its website: “Tran Hung is a designer from Vietnam, a country that is very much in its infancy in the fashion industry. Tran Hung is amongst the well- established brands in the high-end luxury fashion market, captivating his audience with his sophisticated designs by pushing the envelope of design.”

“90 percent of the raw materials that Tran Hung uses are environmentally friendly material and ethnically sourced”, it said.

The manual technique has reached an advanced level that minimises the use of machines. Some designs are made from excess fabric which limits fabric waste to the environment.

Hung’s designs are handcrafted. Organza is his signature material of choice. That is also the reason the brand is so unique and different from others in Vietnam.

Hung once wrote on his Facebook: “We have Organza, Taffeta, Chiffon, Crepe, Satin and Habutai… There are so many kinds of cloth made from silk. The most important thing is that what comes from nature is always friendly with the nature”

This is the second time that the Vietnamese renowned designer has been invited to the hit fashion catwalk of London Fashion Week, but the first time his profile has appeared on the website of London Fashion Week along with other famous designers of the world.

Hung was born in 1988 in Yen Bai province and rose to fame as the runner-up of Project Runway 2015. Over the past three years, he has launched four fashion collections, in addition to participating in designing for children at Vietnam Junior Fashion Week 2019. He pursues a romantic style that combines Asian-European inspiration.

He has been renowned for his exquisite fluttering skirt designs, which are adored by many celebrities in the Vietnamese showbiz.

Some of his designs have appeared on the websites of prestigious fashion magazines such as VogueHarper's Bazaar and Elle, and been favoured by many Vietnamese stars like singer Thuy Tien and model Pham Huong. Besides being a designer, he was a judge of Vietnam Supermodel 2018.

🐻 Hung said it is his honour to become a member of the British Fashion Council and have runway show at the London Fashion Week in the context of global slowdown due to COVID-19 crisis.

London Fashion Week takes place in London twice a year, in February and September.

This year, however, due to COVID-19 pandemic, there will be a slight change in the event – all men’s and women’s shows will be performed fusion on a digital neutral platform, meaning that the shows will be lived streamed in the website  along with live demonstrations that follow strict guidelines on social distancing.

London Fashion Week has taken the digital-only platform since June 12. The digital platform is freely accessible globally for both the public and trade audiences, embracing the cultural commentary and creativity for which British fashion and London are known.

ও Among very few international events taking place in London, the London Fashion Week is a vivid illustration for the fashion industry’s recovery ability and creativity in tough time./.
