Singapore (VNA) – Vietnamese expatriates in Singapore celebratedthe Lunar New Year (Tet) festival at a get-together recently held by theVietnamese Embassy in the host country and the Liaison Committee of theVietnamese Community in Singapore.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Nguyen Tien Minh delivered Tet greetings tothe overseas Vietnamese, wishing them a new year of health, happiness and luck.
Tet holiday is an important event which helps preserve traditional values and allowsVietnamese people to meet and support each other in the host nation, he noted.
The Vietnamese diplomat expressed his belief that the expats will continuetheir efforts to contribute to national development and deepen relationsbetween Vietnam and Singapore.
At the event, Minh also detailed notable events in the country in 2017 andactivities to bolster ties between the two countries.
Participants were also treated to art performances and traditional cuisine.-VNA
