Vietnamese film submitted for Oscars consideration
The Vietnamese film I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass (Toi Thay Hoa Vang Tren Co Xanh) will compete in the Best Foreign Language Film Category at the Oscar awards in February 2017.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnamese film I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass (Toi Thay Hoa Vang Tren Co Xanh) will compete in the Best Foreign Language Film Category at the Oscar awards in February 2017.
The film, directed by Vietnamese-American Victor Vu, was released in October last year. It earned a record 80 billion VND (3.6 million USD) in its first month and was listed among the top 10 outstanding cultural events in Vietnam.
ও It was screened at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. It also won many prestigious awards, including Best Film at the TIFF Kids International Film Festival 2016, the Golden Lotus award at the 19th Vietnam Film Festival, the Golden Kite award at the Vietnam Film Festival 2015, and Best Film at the second Silk Road International Film Festival in 2015 in China.-VNA
A Vietnamese film on childhood titled ‘Toi Thay Hoa Vang Tren Co Xanh’ (I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass) has won Best Film title at the TFF Kids International Film Festival 2016.

For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
