Vietnamese fishermen rescued in Myanmar

All 14 Vietnamese crew members of the Dong Thien Phu Silver cargo vessel were rescued in Myanmar on January 25, according to the Myanmar Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre (Myanmar MRCC).

HCM City (VNA) - All 14 Vietnamese crew members of the Dong Thien Phu Silver cargo vessel were rescued in Myanmar on Januꦰary 25, according to the Myanmar Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centr❀e (Myanmar MRCC).

The fishermen were sailing off Yangon in Myanmar on January 25, after leaving the port of Bintulu in Malaysia. The vessel collided with the Dominican-flagged oil tanker, MT Ocean Ospery, at 1.30pm on the same day and sank in bad weather.
The Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (Vietnam MRCC) received an unidentified SOS sign at 2:28pm. It later recognised the sign as being from the Dong Thien Phu Silver, which is owned by the South Dong Thien Phu Joint Stock Company in HCM City.
It contacted the company to receive confirmation. The Vietnam MRCC worked with the Myanmar MRCC to search for and rescue the crew members. At 5:50pm, Myanmar rescue officials announced that the crew members of Dong Thien Phu Silver had been rescued, and will be sent home soon.-VNA
