National Secretary of the French Communist Party (FCP) Pierre Laurenton Sept. 14 held talks with a high-ranking delegation from the CommunistParty of Vietnam (CPV).
The Vietnamese delegation,led by Thuan Huu, Editor-in-Chief of the Nhan dan (People’s) daily, isvisiting France to attend the FCP’s L’Humanite newspaper festivalfrom Sept. 16-18.
During the meeting, PierreLaurent, who is also Regional Counsellor of Ile-de-France , spokehighly of Vietnam ’s participation in the festival’s economic space,considering this an important and necessary contribution to boosting thecooperative ties between the two parties and nations in the comingtime.
The invitation to Vietnam to attend theevent is part of preparations for France-Vietnam cultural exchange in2012, the year marking the 40 th anniversary of diplomatic ties betweenthe two countries, he said.
For his part, Huuexpressed his delight at recent outstanding progresses in thecooperation between the two Parties marked by the visit to Vietnamby Pierre Laurent in April this year.
He said hehopes the close and effective ties between the two Parties will bedeveloped through regular exchanges of high-ranking delegations and thefine relations between the FCP’s L’Humanite newspaper and Nhan dan dailyof the CPV, as well as the cooperation between the two communist youthunions.
He expressedhis wish that the two Parties will share common voice at internationaland regional forums of communist parties and the FCP with its prestigeand role will contribute to lifting the cooperative ties between the twocountries to a new level and promoting French investment in Vietnam ./.
