Vietnamese karate artists win two silvers, two bronzes in Indonesia

Vietnam's karate team have picked up two silver medals and two bronze to rank eighth in the medal tally at the 2014 Indonesia Open Karate Championships in Jakarta.

In the female kata (performance)individual event, Japan's Rimi Kajikawa took home gold after defeatingworld champion Nguyen Hoang Ngan of Vietnam.

Nguyen Minh Phungwas the runner-up in the men's kumite (combat) U84kg category afterlosing to Soltni Kalvanagh Mahdi of Iran in the final.

Vietnam's two kumite bronzes went to Tran Thi Khanh Vy (women's U50kg) and Bui Thi Ngoc Han (women's U61kg).

Iranbagged seven of the 13 gold medals winning the championship title.Japan finished in second place with three gold, followed by the Republicof Korea with one gold.-VNA
