Head of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung and head of the Commission for External Relations of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee Thongsavanh Phomvihane held talks in Hanoi on April 21, on the occasion of the latter's visit for a friendship exchange under a cooperation agreement between the two commissions from April 20-24.
Hanoi (VNA) – Head of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for ExternalRelations Le Hoai Trung and head of the Commission for External Relations of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee Thongsavanh Phomvihane held talks in Hanoi on April 21, on the occasion of the latter's visit for a friendship exchange undera cooperation agreement between the two commissions from April 20-24.
Both sides informed each other about the situation of eachParty and country, discussed international affairs and the implementation of high-levelagreement, especially cooperation between the two commissions.
They underlined the need to fulfil assigned tasks to further deepen the cooperative relationship between the two Parties and countries.
ಌ The two sides will strengthen the exchange of information,evaluate the world and regional situation, and uphold their role in strategiccounselling while monitoring the implementation of the high-level agreement andcontinuing to improve the effectiveness of cooperation between agencies of thetwo Parties, mass organisations and social groups.

On the occasion, a ceremony was held to award Orders andMedals of the Vietnamese and Lao States to several collectives and officialsof the two commissions in recognition of their outstanding achievements in consolidatinggreat friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation betweenVietnam and Laos.
Asscheduled, the two commissions and authorities of the central province of ThuaThien-Hue will hold a friendship exchange.
🅺 They will hold fact-finding trips in the province, visitseveral families of Vietnamese voluntary experts who served in Laos, organisecultural and sports activities, and discuss issues of shared interest. They willalso pay tribute to martyrs at the Road 9 National Cemetery./.
The official visit of Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong to Lao on April 10 and 11 was a great success and its results will contribute to deepening the two countries’ great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation, Lao officials said while talking to the Vietnam News Agency about the trip.
The Vietnamese and Lao embassies and delegations in Belgium, the EU, and the Netherlands co-organised an exchange event marking the Lao traditional New Year festival Bunpimay in Brussels on April 12.

The country is willing to participate in collective efforts to promote cooperation and mobilise resources to advance the current priority issues of developing countries, such as trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, making the most of scientific and technological advances for development, and people-to-people exchanges, Hang said.
During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
