Vietnamese leaders congratulate US on Independence Day

Hanoi (VNA) – President Tran Dai Quang and PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on July 3 sent congratulations to President of theUnited States Donald Trump on the country’s 241st Independence Day (July 4,1776).
On this occasion, National Assembly ChairwomanNguyen Thi Kim Ngan also extended congratulations to President of the US SenateMichael Pence and Speaker of the US House of Representatives Paul Ryan.
The same day, Deputy Prime Minister and ForeignMinister Pham Binh Minh sent a congratulatory message to US Secretary of StateRex Tillerson.-VNA
Nguyen Tam Chien, President of the Vietnam-USA Society (VUS), received a delegation of teachers and students from the US’s George School in Hanoi on June 13.
A ceremony was held at Da Nang International Airport in the central city of Da Nang on June 18 to repatriate remains of US servicemen who died during the war in Vietnam.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
