Yunnan (VNA) – The Party, Government and people of Vietnam support the friendship and cooperation between Vietnamese ministries, agencies a🐼ndಞ localities and China and Yunnan province in particular, said Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung.

At a meeting with Secretary of the Yunnan province Party Committee Li Ji Heng on June 13, the Deputy PM urged joint efforts to successfully organise the sixth meeting of the working group between Vietnam’s Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Dien Bien and Lai Chau provinces and Yunnan this year. He also suggested the localities step up their pragmatic collaboration in economy, trade, investment, tourism and infrastructure, and facilitate the transportation and import of Vietnamese goods, especially agro-forestry-fisheries products, contributing to improving the bilateral trade balance between the two countries.
Apart from enhancing people-to-people exchanges, particularly between young people, the localities should fully actualise three documents on land border management and partner with each other in managing labourers at border areas, and building and upgrading border gates, he said. Li Ji Heng said Deputy PM Dung’s China trip demonstrates the importance Vietnam attaches to the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, as well as between Yunnan and Vietnamese localities. Yunnan pays heed to the friendship and cooperation with its Vietnamese counterparts, and stands ready to coordinate with them in realising common perceptions reached by the two countries’ leaders, helping consolidate the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership.
He suggested making the best of cooperation mechanisms between Yunnan and Vietnamese localities in order to boost the affiliation in economy, trade, tourism, culture, education, health care and border management. Joint efforts should be focused on building economic corridors and the Ha Khau-Lao Cai cross-border economic cooperation zone, and increasing the export and import of products of the two sides’ strengths, the host said. The meeting took place as part of the Vietnamese official’s trip to China to attend the fourth China-South Asia Expo and the 24th Kunming Import and Export Commodities Fair.-VNA
