Vietnamese marksmen win gold in regional champs

Hanoi (VNA) - Phan Cong Minh of Vietnam won a gold medal in the men’s 25mstandard pistol individual event at the Southeast Asian Shooting Championshipsat Subang Shooting Range, Malaysia, on May 8.

Minhscored 569 points to top the podium. He was followed by teammate Ha Minh Thanh with567 points and Gai Binh of Singapore with 565 points.

Minhlater grabbed his second title in the team event, scoring 1,682 points, alongwith Thanh and Bui Hong Phong.

Malaysiaand Hong Kong came second and third, respectively.

Thesame day, Bui Thi Thu Thuy grabbed a third gold for Vietnam, as she claimedfirst place in the women’s 10m air pistol individual.

LinHui-wen and Chien Hsin-yi of Chinese Taipei earned silver and bronze medals.

TheVietnamese team also pocketed two bronze medals on the fourth day of thetournament.

NguyenThi Ha came third in the women’s 10m air pistol individual. Trio Duong ThiLuyen, Nguyen Huyen Trang and Nguyen Thi Nga finished third in the women’s 50mrifle prone team category.

Afterfour days, Vietnam have four gold, nine silver and four bronze medals in theirkitty.
