Vietnamese referee to officiate at 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Referee Truong Quoc Dung of Vietnam is one of 39 officials who will be officiating at the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024 later this year.

Dung is a familiar face of the national amateur and professional competitions. He became a FIFA referee in 2009 and is currently member of the Vietnam Football Federation's Referee Council with special responsibility for futsal.

The 42-year-old's professionalism is appreciated domestically and internationally and he regularly works at the Asian Football Confederation's events. It was the AFC who proposed Dung to FIFA for the 2024 FIFA World Cup.

It will be the second time that Dung has been assigned to this highest level tournament of indoor football, he refereed at it in 2016.

The World Cup will be held from September 14 to October 6 in Andijan, Bukhara and Tashkent in Uzbekistan.
