Vietnamese, Saudi Arabian FMs seek ways to foster bilateral ties

Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister PhamBinh Minh held phone talks on September 23 with Prince Faisal bin Farhan AlSaud, Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, to discuss their respective countries’situation as well as measures to boost bilateral relations.
This is the second time the two FMs have joinedin phone talks within two months.
Minh extended his greetings to the Princeon the occasion of Saudi Arabia’s 90th National Day (September 23).He affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to further developing itsfriendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Saudi Arabia.
The two officials said they are satisfiedwith remarkable achievements in bilateral relations after recent talks, andstressed both sides should intensify cooperation in politics, economy,investment and tourism for the interests of the two countries’ people, and forpeace and stability in the region and the world.
Within the framework of the talks, the twosides exchanged views on several regional and international issues of mutualconcern./.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
