Hanoi (VNA) - The VTV Binh Dien Long An Volleyball Club have agreed to let theirkey player Tran Thi Thanh Thuyplay for Denso Airybees for another season.

Thuy’scurrent contract with the Japanese club will end this month.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Japanese tournament ended earlier than scheduled and Thuyreturned to Vietnam last month.

It took theVietnamese side several weeks to decide after posting on their Facebook page:“The absence of Thanh Thuy from the team made us fail to defend our title in 2019. We could onlyfinish fourth. However, we are willing to allow her to develop atAsian-level competition in Japan. She will improve andcontribute more to the national team, especially at the 31st SEAGames next year”.

Last year,Thuy received 200,000 USD perseason, and is likely to get a better offer this year./.
