Vietnam’s choir features in Human Kind single

The Miracle Choir and Orchestra is Vietnam’s only representative in the Human Kind international charity single, released and distributed worldwide by Universal Music Operations.

Hanoi (VNA) - TheMiracle Choir and Orchestra is Vietnam’s only representative in the Human Kindinternational charity single, released and distributed worldwide by UniversalMusic Operations.

Written by English songwriter Michael Solomon Williams, thefounder of Common and Kind project, Human Kind aims to convey the message ofmusic’s ability to bring communities together, and the dream of a better,peaceful world in which there are no divisions.

With quotations from John Donne (‘No man’s an island’) and Jo Cox(‘More in common’), the song was conceived to be adaptable for a wide range ofmusical genres and abilities. It was also designed so that it could be recordedacross the world, creating an international music video that brings peopletogether from all communities, cultures, nations and musical genres.

The main ingredient was recorded at the end of a vastcollaborative concert held at the Union Chapel in London on August 2,2016.  Choirs and soloists from across the world have also sent in theirrecordings of Human Kind.

The single includes inputs from Pihcintu, a choir combiningrefugees from Cambodia, China, Congo, El Salvador, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kenya,Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, Vietnam, West Indies, Zambia,Northern Ireland, Scotland, India, Malaysia, the UK and the US.

The song also features guest soloists such as renowned musicalactress-singer Cassidy Janson, Jonathan Hoard, Saida Tani, Sarah Connolly and Grammywinner Snarky Puppy.

Human Kind was recorded in London, New York and across the world,and released online on June 16 on all major online vendors andstreaming platforms. The online sales proceeds will be donated to Musicianswithout Borders, Music Action International and Amnesty International. 

By participating in the musical project, the Miracle choir andorchestra said it has sent its hope for a brighter future, and its beliefs thateffort will always be made to heal humans and miracles will take place in soulsin every corner of the world every day.

Established by artist couple, pianist Trang Trinh and conductorPark Sung Min, in 2013, the Miracle choir offers free classical music educationto promote opportunity and development of underprivileged children.-VNA

ﷺ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee
