Vietnam’s contemporary art brought to Russia

Different trends of Vietnam ’s contemporary art have been introduced to Russian art lovers through a painting exhibition recently held in the Russian city of Vladivostok.
Different trends of Vietnam ’s contemporary art have been introduced toRussian art lovers through a painting exhibition recently held in theRussian city of Vladivostok.

At the exhibition, Vietnamesepainters’ artworks stood along paintings created by artists fromVladivostok , Ussuriysk and Krasnoyarsk cities, including that ofOlga Zotova, Associate Professor of the Far Eastern Federal University,who is in charge of the event.

In 2012, Olga Zotova organised atour of Vietnam for Russian artists who made sketches depicting thesouthern coastal city of Nha Trang in different styles.

Apart from exhibiting their paintings, participating Vietnamesepainters also visited museum, attended seminars and festivals, andlearnt new arts and handicrafts in Vladivostok, where cultures ofRussia, Japan and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea hasintertwined.

Lacquer paintings by Nha Trang finearts students that they brought along will vie at the ASEAN painters’contest in the city in August.-VNA
