Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s nationalfutsal team have set their sights on a semi-final berth at the upcoming AsianCup Indoor Games.
Coach Miguel Rodrigo has selected19 players to prepare for the event, most of whom competed in last month’sSoutheast Asian Games and the Futsal World Cup 2016.
The team, who won a bronze medalin the Games, met on September 3.
The Asian event, which will takeplace on September 16-26 in Turkmenistan, features 18 teams divided into fourgroups.
Vietnam has been drawn in Group Awith Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, theSolomon Islands and hosts Turkmenistan.
Vietnam will face Chinese Taipeiin the opener on September 16, Hong Kong on September 19, Solomon on September20 and Turkmenistan a day later.-VNA
Miguel Rodrigo was appointed as head coach of Vietnam National Futsal Team from 2017 - 2020, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced in a ceremony in HCM City on June 24.
Thai Son Nam Club of Vietnam came from behind to clinch the third place in the Asian Football Confederation Futsal Club Championship after a 6-1 victory over Qatar’s Al Rayyan in HCM City on July 30.
The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.
This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
