Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s football team arrived in Jakarta on June 29 to attend the 2022 AFF U-19 Boys Championship which will take place from July 2-15.
Head coach Dinh The Nam is bringing 27 players to the tournament, with four as reserves for the 23 on the official list.
At the tournament, Vietnam will be in Group A, together with Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Brunei and the Philippines. Group B includes Malaysia, Laos, Timor Leste, Cambodia and Singapore.
𝔉 Vietnam will face the hosts Indonesia on July 2, before taking on the Philippines, Brunei, Myanmar and Thailand on July 4, 6, 8 and 10, respectively./.
A 2-0 victory over Afghanistan on June 1 helped the Vietnamese men’s football team gain 3.46 points to take the 95th place in FIFA rankings with 1,218.84 points.
Vietnam’s U-19 football team will be in Group A, together with Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Brunei and the Philippines, at the AFF U-19 Youth Championship 2022, according the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF).
The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.

The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.

For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.
