Vietnam’s U16 and U19 football teams will soon train in Japan to prepare for the finals of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Championships this year.

- Vietnam’s U16 and U19 football teams will soon train inJapan to prepare for the finals of Asian Football Confederation (AFC)Championships this year, according to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

The VFF said Japan will create the best conditionsfor the teams to train. Japan will sponsor the whole training trip for the twoteams.

Both teams will have three friendly matches inJapan.

The Vietnam U16 squad secured a ticket to the finalround of the 2018 AFC U16 Championship after being one of the top sixsecond-placed teams in qualification. 

The event’s finals will be held in Malaysia fromSeptember 20 to October 7. The four semi-finalists will qualify for the 2019FIFA U17 World Cup.

Vietnam U19 team topped Group H of the 2018 AFCU19 Championship qualifiers and moved to the event’s finals which will takeplace in Indonesia from October 18 and November 4 with the participation of 16teams.

The top four teams of the tournament will qualifyfor the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup as the AFC representatives.-VNA
