VinaCapital helps out kids with heart disease

The VinaCapital Group will continue its support for needy children with heart disease through 2012, said CEO Don Lam.
The VinaCapital Group will continue its support for needy children with heart disease through 2012, said CEO Don Lam.

DonLam made the commitment at a get-together of more than 300 needychildren who were born with heart disease in the central coastalprovince of Khanh Hoa . The children have been given free heartsurgery under a programme of VinaCapital Foundation (VCF) HeartbeatVietnam .

He said the support also includes funds for more than40 poor children who are now waiting for heart surgery in Khanh Hoaprovince.
Over the past four years, 333 needy kids in theprovince underwent heart surgery at a total cost of over 13.6 billionVND, of which the VCF funded 8 billion VND.

The Foundation also provided equipment and machinery worth 6.5 billion VND to the Khanh Hoa Province Hospital .

HeartbeatVietnam has also been operating in many cities and provincesnationwide since 2007, helping 1,570 children receive heart surgery.

HeartbeatVietnam funds lifesaving heart surgery for the most disadvantagedchildren in Vietnam , whose families cannot afford treatment./.
