Violinist Bui Cong Duy to perform at Toyota Concert 2018

Talented Vietnamese violinist Bui Cong Duy will join Taiwanese-American cellist Grace Ho and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra to perform at the Toyota Concert 2018, which is scheduled to be held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from August 10-14.

Hanoi (VNA) - TalentedVietnamese violinist Bui Cong Duy will join Taiwanese-American cellist Grace Ho and the Vietnam National SymphonyOrchestra to perform at the Toyota Concert 2018, which is scheduled to be heldin Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from August 10-14. 

Duy and Ho are well-loved by local and foreign classical musicenthusiasts. They have won many prestigious national and international awards.

They, along with the orchestra under the batonof Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji, will present famous classical music pieces,including Double Concerto by Johannes Brahms and Symphony No. 7 by Ludwig vanBeethoven.

All proceeds from ticket sales of the concert tour will be donated to theToyota Vietnam Foundation to fund scholarships for talented young musicians inschools across the country.

The Special Toyota Concert 2018 took place onJuly 13 at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi as part of activitiesto mark the 45th anniversary of Vietnamese-Japanese diplomatic ties. 

The programme was jointly organised by ToyotaMotor Vietnam and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO), aiming toenhance cultural and musical exchange between the two countries. 

The recent concert, funded by the Toyota VietnamFoundation, was also conducted by conductor Honna Tetsuji and featuredperformances by talented Japanese cello soloist Miyata Dai and other Vietnameseartists.-VNA
