VNA to step up communications cooperation with Tra Vinh province

Tra Vinh (VNA) – A delegation of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), led byGeneral Director Nguyen Duc Loi, had a working session with leaders of theMekong Delta province of Tra Vinh on November 24 to discuss cooperation incommunications for the 2021-2025 period.
Loi, who is also a member of the Party CentralCommittee, said the VNA is a Government agency that publishes the Party andState’s official information and documents, provides information at the Partyand State’s request, and collect and disseminate information via differentforms of journalism to serve mass media outlets and domestic and foreignreaders.
It has bureaus in all 63 provinces and citiesnationwide and in many important places around the world, an advantage that noother Vietnamese press agencies have, he said.
The VNA can cooperate with Tra Vinh topopularise the province’s potential and strengths to domestic and foreign pressoutlets, Loi added.
At the meeting, Secretary of the provincialParty Committee Ngo Chi Cuong thanked the VNA for its good performance incovering socio-economic and security-defence aspects of Tra Vinh, helping tospread the province’s image around the world.
He expressed his hope that the VNA will continueassisting Tra Vinh to report on its socio-economic achievements, outstandingresults in implementing policies in ethnic minority and religious communities,as well as accomplishments in new-style countryside building and povertyreduction.
The official also suggested the VNA helpintroduce Tra Vinh’s cultural identities, people, potential, and strengths tointernational friends./.
The People’s Committee of the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh has approved the second phase of a 760-km long embankment project along the Co Chien river.
Drought during this year’s dry season has caused losses of around 1 trillion VND (43.4 million USD) in the Mekong Delta of Tra Vinh, said Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Pham Minh Truyen at a conference on September 15.

PM Chinh lauded the press’s historic role in the nation’s fight for independence and its ongoing process of national development, affirming that the Government always highly appreciates the close partnership and steadfast support of press agencies and journalists nationwide.
In recent decades, Vietnam’s mainstream media has become a reliable and persuasive channel for showcasing the nation’s development policies and achievements, especially in economic matters, according to a senior assistant editor at the Times of India.
A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
