VN’s precious archaeology on show

An int' l archaeology workshop opened in Hanoi as a preparation for an upcoming display of VN’s precious items in Germany.
An international workshop on archaeology opened in Hanoi on Feb. 29 asa preparation for an upcoming display of Vietnam ’s preciousarchaeological items in Germany . During the three-dayworkshop, domestic and foreign historians, researchers andarchaeologists are expected to deliver 20 reports, presenting anoverview on Vietnam’s history with a focus on the country’s culturessuch as Dong Son, Sa Huynh, Oc Eo and Champa and latest studies on theThang Long-Dai Viet culture through antiques of the Thang Long royalcitadel. The event is being jointly held by the VietnameseMinistry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the German Goethe Institutein Hanoi , and Vietnamese and German partners.
The event is achance for both sides, particularly Vietnamese and German partnersinvolving in the upcoming display of Vietnam ’s archaeological items inGermany , to share and discuss information.
The items will beon display in three states in Germany in 2014 and 2015, makingcontributions to promoting the Southeast Asian country’s culture. Theexhibition is expected to draw German people’s attention to theVietnamese culture and encourage them to visit Vietnam as anincreasing number of Germans choose Vietnam as their destination fortourism and economic investment.-VNA

🤡 Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
