Volunteers selected for APEC Economic Leaders’ Week

The central coastal city of Da Nang has been selecting the best volunteers to serve the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in November, the most important external event of the city and Vietnam in 2017.

– The central coastal city of Da Nang has beenselecting the best volunteers to serve the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week inNovember, the most important external event of the city and Vietnam in2017.

The city has receivednearly 2,000 dossiers registered directly and online and selected nearly 900candidates aged between 18 and 25 years to interview.

As many as 260qualified volunteers will be selected to join activities chaired by the VietnamChamber of Commerce and Industry within the framework of the APEC EconomicLeaders’ Week,

They will be provided with training programmes held by the APEC National Committee in mid-October.

The APEC Economic Leaders’ Week and relatedmeetings are scheduled to take place in DaNang from November 6-11.

The event is expected to welcome leaders from 21 member economies as well asnearly 4,000 foreign and local reporters.

Established in 1989, APEC comprises 21 economies, including Australia, Brunei,Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea,Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia,Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam.-VNA
