VOV to launch English language channel

Deputy Prime Minister (PM) Vu Duc Dam has approved the Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV)’s proposal on launching an all-day English language channel .
Deputy Prime Minister (PM) Vu Duc Dam has approved the Radio Voice ofVietnam (VOV)’s proposal on launching an all-day English languagechannel .

The Deputy PM has appointed the Ministry ofInformation and Communication (MIC) to license the station’s newprogramme in accordance with current regulations.

The new channel is scheduled to go on-air during the third quarter this year.

Presently,the VOV’s Overseas Service VOV5 is broadcasting 12 foreignlanguage programmes in English, French, Russian, Spanish, Japanese,Chinese, German, Lao, Thai, Cambodian, Indonesian and Vietnamese./.
