With a total length of 57.1 km, the Ben Luc-Long ThanhExpressway runs through Long An province's Ben Luc and Can Giuocdistricts; Binh Chanh, Nha Be and Can Gio districts in HCM City and NhonTrach and Long Thanh districts in Dong Nai province.

MaiTuan Anh, VEC General Director, said the expressway would connect thecountry's expressway and highway networks with major seaports in thesouth such as Thi Vai-Cai Mep and Sao Mai-Ben Dinh, and the planned LongThanh International Airport.
It will also help ease trafficpressure and reduce the number of traffic accidents on National HighwayNo 1A and National Highway No 51 and at the same time reduce the traveltime between Long An, Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces.
Onceput into operation, the expressway will be part of the Asian Highwayfrom Bangkok via Phnom Penh to HCM City and Vung Tau in Vietnam.

Investmentrequired for this section of the expressway amounts to 31.3 trillionVND (1.608 billion USD), said VEC during the groundbreaking ceremony ofBen Luc-Long Thanh Expressway on July 19, 2014.
