Work starts on household solid waste treatment plant in Tra Vinh

Tra Vinh (VNA) – Construction of a househo✤ld solid wa💜ste treatment factory kicked off onJuly 6 in Luong Hoa commune, Chau Thanh district, the Mekong Delta province ofTra Vinh.
The plant,covering an area of 15ha, is being built at a cost of more than 79 billion VND(around 3.48 million USD) invested by the Vietnam Energy Environment IndustrialTechnology Company Limited. It will useSankio incinerators imported from Japan and is capable of treating 150 tonnesof household solid waste per day. The construction is expected to be completedwithin one year. Le Van Tai,Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Construction, said household solidwaste in Tra Vinh was previously collected and buried at landfills with a dailyamount of over 250 tonnes. Once operational, the factory will handle garbage inTra Vinh city and neighbouring districts such as Chau Thanh, Tieu Can, CangLong and Cau Ke. Tra Vinh will continueto call for investment in household solid waste treatment factories in othercoastal localities, including Cau Ngang, Tra Cu and Duyen Hai districts andDuyen Hai township.-VNA
