Yen Bai develops concentrated tourist areas

Yen Bai (VNA) – The northern mountainous province of Yen Bai is developing four concentratedtourist areas with specific products, said Director of the provincial Departmentof Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Thanh Binh.

Theyinclude Thac Ba lake and Chay river, Yen Bai city and adjacent areas, the westand Tran Yen-Van Yen.

Thac Balake is one of the country’s three largest artificial lakes with 19,000ha ofwater and 1,300 islands with abundant flora and fauna.

Theprovince is completing a master plan on developing Thac Ba lake into a nationaltourist site to submit to the government.

Withnational tourist landmarks such as Mu Cang Chai terraced fields, Khau Pha hill,Ta Xua and Ta Chi peaks, intangible cultural values of Thai, Mong and Muongethnic minorities, and Dong Cuong temple – one of the important destinations forMother Goddesses’ worship in Tran Yen-Van Yen district, Yen Bai focuses on ecologicaland resort, spiritual, community-based, sports and entertainment tourism.

To attractinvestment in tourism, the province has cut time for investment licensing to threedays from five and processing of business establishment procedures from threeto two days, said Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Do Duc Duy.

Yen Bai hasalso established a working group to remove obstacles facing businesses. It alsodevised a tourism promotion policy for 2017-2020, under which, investors willreceive support in site clearance and marketing.

Theprovincial People’s Council issued a resolution on amendments and supplementsto several contents of Decision 24 of the provincial People’s Committee tosupport investors in the field.

Lying onthe gateway to the northwest and the key economic corridor Kunming – Lao Cai –Hanoi – Hai Phong, Yen Bai plays a central role in transport connectivity innorthern mountainous provinces.

As home to30 ethnic minorities and abundant cultural and tourism resources, Yen Bai iswell-positioned to develop tourism.-VNA
