Marksmen Hoang Xuan Vinh will be the Vietnamese representative at theseventh Asian Airgun Championships in Kuwait from March 7-13.
Three-time SEA Games winner Vinh will compete in the 10m air pistol event to be held on March 9.
The Olympian won a gold medal with 683.3 points in this competition two years ago in Nanchang, China.
According to a ranking released on October 9, Vinh is the second-bestshooter in the men's 10m air pistol category behind Olympic winner JinJong-oh of the Republic of Korea. He got 1,033 points while Jinobtained 3,207. His position is Vietnam's best ever in thecontinental ranking.
Meanwhile, tennis player Ly Hoang Nam will compete in two international tournaments this month.
Nam, who has withdrawn from the 2014 Australian Open's juniorcategory, arrived in Costa Rica for the Coffee Bowl event, to be held onJanuary 6-11. He then will travel to Venezuela to compete in the CopaGatorade on January 13-19.
