HCM City (VNA) - Up to 100 houses will be built in centraland Central Highlands provinces to help disaster-hit residents under aprogramme signed on December 25.
The programme, inked between the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Red Cross Society, the Vietnam YoungEntrepreneurs Association, and the TTC Group, aims to provide timely support tohelp local people settle down quickly.
With each house costing 50 million VND (about 2,160 USD), construction willtotal 5 billion VND, with 2.5 billion VND coming from the entrepreneurs associationand the remainder from TTC.
The funding will be allocated to ten provinces affected by the recent stormsand flooding: Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, BinhDinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, and Ninh Thuan.
In the first quarter of 2021, the VFF Committee of HCM City is set towork with authorities in these provinces to list beneficiaries and get constructionunderway.
New houses will be handed over in the second quarter to targetedhouseholds, including poor, near-poor, and ethnic minority households and thosein border areas.
