New Delhi (VNA) – The 26th ASEAN – India Senior Officials’ Meeting was held in New Delhi on May 3 under the chair of Secretary (East) at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Jaideep Mazumdar and Permanent Secretary of the Singaporean Ministry of Foreign Affairs Albert Chua.

The event was attended by senior officials and representatives of ASEAN member states, India, and observer Timor Leste, and the Deputy Secretary of ASEAN.

MAE spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on social media platform X that the meeting reviewed the relations between ASEAN and India, and discussed measures to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two sides.

Officials evaluated the bilateral ties on the three pillars of politics-security, economy, and culture-society as reflected in the ASEAN – India Plan of Action for 2021-2025, according to an announcement.

Besides, the implementation of the Prime Ministers’ 12-point proposal for strengthening the ASEAN – India partnership announced at the 20th senior officials’ meeting in Jakarta in 2023 was on the table.

♓ They also recommended joint activities to mark the 10 years of the implementation of India’s Act-East Policy, while discussing regional and international issues of mutual concerns, as well as preparation for the ASEAN-India in Laos this year./.
