About 150 young students attend Vietnam Robot contest

HCM City (VNA) –🃏 Nearly 150elementary and junior high school students participated in the 2018International Youth Robotic Competition, which took place in Ho Chi Minh Cityon August 5.

The contenders were selected fromcompetitions at province and city levels held in April and May this year. Theycompeted in seven events of computer language programming and robot control. The top places were mainly won bystudents from schools in HCM City and Hanoi. In the individual category, Ngo TranHung Anh and Le Linh Nghi triumphed in Recycling and Forest Rescue events, respectively. Meanwhile, among the groups, the teamof Nguyen Phan Nhat Nam and Nguyen Huu Duc took the first place in the Bridgeof Friendship. Nguyen Minh Khang and Le Kim MinhNhat topped the Ocean Rescue event while Nguyen Khang, Phan Tuan Chi and Ho VuThien Binh seized victory in Football. Ly Nguyen Bach Duong, Ho Chi Thong,Le Linh Nghi and Nguyen Hoang Bach claimed top spot in Creativity among elementarystudents while Hoang Trung Kien, Nguyen Ngoc Dung and Nguyen Tuan Thanh won thecategory for middle school students. Duong Thi Chi Mai from the organisingboard said the competition aims to create a playground for students who havepassion for science-technology, particularly in programming and robot creation. Winners of the contest will receivesupport to attend the 2018 IYRC, which is slated for November in Thailand.-VNA
