Hanoi (VNA) 𒊎– Aeronautical technologies have been researched and applied widely by many sectors in Vietnam, heard a workshop in Hanoi on September 30.

Remote sensing and satellite data have been used across natural science, agriculture, natural resources and environment, transport, and national defence and security, said Doan Ha Thang, Chief of the Vietnam Space Committee (VSC)’s Office.
The workshop was jointly held by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Vietnam Space Committee (VSC)’s Office.
Participants reviewed outstanding achievements in the research and application of aeronautical technologies since 2006 when the Prime Minister issued a decision ratifying the relevant strategy by 2020. They also outlined development orientations for the work during the 2016-2020 period. The workshop highlighted Vietnam’s achievements in this field like VINASAT-1 and 2 commercial communication satellites, VNREDSAT-1 earth observation satellite and SPOT satellite imaginary receiving station, among others.-VNA

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
