- State President To Lam inspected combat readiness of the Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN) in the northern port city of Hai Phong on June 7.

VPN Commander Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem briefed the leader on the force's achievements, noting that it has effectively fulfilled all assignments in accordance with the directives and resolutions of the Party, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defence, particularly in protecting Vietnam’s sovereignty in the sea. - New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters emphasised the importance that New Zealand attaches to the Southeast Asian nation in an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on the occasion of his official visit to Vietnam on June 5-6, during which he co-chaired the second Vietnam-New Zealand Foreign Ministers' Meeting.

According to Peters, his visit aimed to “rapidly improve, strengthen and upgrade the bilateral relationship”, exchange views on matters important to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and adjacent areas, and renew “the decades-old connection between our two countries.” Read full story

꧟- A delegation from the State Audit of Vietnam (SAV) led by Deputy Auditor General Doan Anh Tho has attended a special dialogue on audit as a tool to complete State management in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The dialogue came within the framework of the 27th St.Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2024) that is taking place in the city from June 5-8, attracting 138 countries and territories to exchange practices and expertise in the interests of sustainable development. Read full story

- There are plenty of opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to expand investment in Slovenia which is located in the centre of Europe and boasts an export-oriented economy along with strengths in a variety of fields such as transportation, logistics, engineering and pharmaceuticals, according to Vesna Nahtigal, General Manager of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS).

Nahtigal said that economic cooperation between Slovenia and Vietnam is becoming increasingly important, clearly shown through strengthened trade and political relations. Read full story

- Vietnam and Slovenia have great potential to enhance cooperation across multiple domains such as labour, tourism, logistics, and import and export of agricultural products, former General Director of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS) Ales Cantarutti has said.

In a recent interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency, Cantarutti said that around eight years ago, when he was the State Secretary in charge of the economy, the Slovenian government decided to take Vietnam as one of the most important markets for Slovenia outside the European Union (EU). - The northern province of Nam Dinh and the Lao province of Oudomxay agreed to strengthen collaboration in the field of education and human resources training during a meeting of education officials of the two localities held in Nam Dinh on June 7.

According to Deputy Director of Nam Dinh’s Department of Education and Training Nguyen Van Thuan, under the MoUs signed between the two provinces on education and training in 2017 and 2018, the Vietnamese province has helped to train 13 Lao students since 2018. All Lao students have been provided with decent accommodation and support, showing the special attention and care of Vietnam to foreign students, he said. Read full story

- Vietnam topped the medal tally at the 13th ASEAN School Games (ASG) as of the end of June 6 with 44 gold, 31 silver, and 17 bronze medals.
