– State President Luong Cuong and Cambodian King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneat Norodom Sihamoni toured Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) in Hanoi and enjoyed Vietnam’s tea there on November 29, as part of the King’s state visit.

Cuong introduced the King to the historical significance of the relic site, highlighting it as a symbol of Hanoi’s thousand-year-old heritage and the country’s first university which houses 82 stone stelae of doctoral laureates, recognised by UNESCO as World Documentary Heritage. The site previously welcomed King Father Norodom Sihanouk and Queen Mother during their state visit to Vietnam in December 1995. Read full story

- The National Assembly (NA) on November 29 morning passed the Geology and Mineral Law with an overwhelming majority of 446 out of 448 deputies voting in favour, representing 93.11% of its members.

The legislation, including 12 chapters and 111 articles, provides regulations on geological investigations, mineral resource protection, mining operations, resource recovery, processing, financing and the auctioning of mineral extraction rights. Read full story

– The upcoming official visit to Singapore by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, starting December 1, is to take place at a very important time, as Vietnam is entering the "era of nation’s rise" and Singapore is creating additional value by promoting its strengths through an investment cooperation strategy.

Both of the countries place great importance on the rule of law. Therefore, the cooperation between them provides a significant impetus for the prospects of bilateral investment cooperation in key areas. Read full story

– Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha met with Finnish President Alexander Stubb and held talks with Finnish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Rikka Purra in Helsinki on November 28 as part of his official visit to Finland.

During the discussions, President Stubb and Deputy PM Purra praised Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements. They confirmed that Vietnam is Finland’s key partner in Southeast Asia. Read full story

– Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang has paid a courtesy call to Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty and co-chaired the 10th political consultation between the two foreign ministries, as part of her working trip to Egypt from November 28-29.

At the meeting, the two sides noted that the cooperative relationship has made positive strides, especially in economy, trade, and investment, with more Vietnamese businesses showing interest and making investment in the Egyptian market. Read full story

– Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien had meetings with Canadian Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade and Economic Development Mary Ng and Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong on November 28 within the framework of the eighth Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership Commission (CPTPP) meeting in Vancouver, Canada.

At the meeting with Mary Ng, the two sides focused on strengthening diplomatic and trade relations, as well as the Vietnam-Canada Comprehensive Partnership. Read full story

– Vietnam’s Coast Guard Ships CSB 8004 and CSB 8003 docked at Squadron 11 Port in the northern city of Hai Phong, successfully concluding a joint patrol mission with the China Coast Guard.

The activity took place from November 26-28 in the waters near the delimitation line of the Gulf of Tonkin. It was the second of its kind in 2024 and was conducted in a spirit of high responsibility by both sides, contributing to building a peaceful and stable sea region with respect to the law./.
