All four Vietnamese students win gold at Int’l Chemistry Olympiad 2022

All four members of the Vietnamese team that competed at the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) 2022 won gold medals, the Ministry of Education and Training announced on July 18.

Hanoi (VNA) - All four members of the Vietnamese team that competed atthe International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) 2022 won gold medals, the Ministryof Education and Training announced on July 18.

The winners are Nguyen Viet Phong, a 12th graderfrom Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted in Ho Chi Minh City; Tran DucMinh, a 12th grader from Bien Hoa High School for the Gifted in HaNam province; Phan Xuan Hanh, a 12th grader from Ha Tinh High Schoolfor the Gifted in the province of the same name; and Pham Nguyen Minh Tuan, a11th grader from the High School for the Gifted of Natural Sciencesunder the University of NaturalSciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

This is the second time that all Vietnamese members have wonthe gold medal at the competition, after the first one in 2020.

This year’s competition drew the participation of 326students from 84 nations and territories.

This is the third year in a row that it is held online. TheVietnamese team competed online at the Hanoi National University of Education.The organisation of the competition had been carefully prepared, meeting therequirements of the Organizing Committee of IChO 2022./.
