All students in HCM City to go back to school by Feb. 14 at the latest
About 1.7 million students of all grades in Ho Chi Minh City are expected to return to school by February 14 at the latest, according to the municipal Department of Education and Training.

HCM City (VNA) 🔯– About1.7 million students of all grades in Ho Chi Minh City are expected to returnto school by February 14 at the latest, according to the municipal Departmentof Education and Training.
On February 7, the first dayafter the Lunar New Year holiday, students from the 7th to 12th grades in the southern hub continue in-person learning, which has beenresumed for them since early January.
Meanwhile, kindergartens andprimary schools will reopen on February 14.
Notably, primary school students areallowed to directly attend school on a voluntary basis, and schools were told to organiseeducational activities in a way that matches the pandemic situation in theplaces they are located in.
HCM City has been classifiedas a “green” zone, equivalent to Level 1 - the lowest in the four-level pandemicscale, for five consecutive weeks, the municipal People’s Committee announcedon February 5./.
The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has asked the People’s Committees of centrally-run cities and provinces nationwide to direct the building of specific plans and roadmaps to reopen schools before February 14.
Most localities nationwide are planning to resume in-person learning after the Lunar New Year holiday, a necessary move to avoid consequences of prolonged school shutdowns which would affect an entire generation for many decades to come, many experts said.
More than 17.12 million, or 75.71 percent of the total pupils and students nationwide, are likely to return to school for face-to-face learning from February 7 after Lunar New Year (Tet) holidays, according to the Ministry of Education and Training.
Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son has said the biggest wish of the entire sector and himself now is that the pandemic will be brought under control soon so that students can return to school, and educational activities return to normal.
Face-to-face learning will be resumed for pupils from the first to sixth grades in 18 suburban districts and towns of Hanoi from February 10 after a long time of online learning due to COVID-19.
