Hanoi (VNA) – The 29th APEC Ministerial Meeting (AMM) featured threeplenary sessions on regional and global economic situation, APEC’s leadershiprole, and creation of new dynamism for growth and regional economicconnectivity on November 8, its first working day, in Da Nang city.

Under thechair of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and Ministerof Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, it brought together ministers from 21member economies, leaders from APEC’s observing organisations such as theAssociation of Southeast Asian Nations, the Pacific Economic CooperationCouncil, the Pacific Islands Forum, among others.

Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Roberto Avezedo presenteda report on the global trade situation and preparations for the 11th WTO Ministerial Conference.

Representativesfrom the APEC’s observing organisations briefed participants about cooperationoutcomes over the past year and offered recommendations to boost cooperationwith the bloc.
