Hanoi, (VNA) – The G20 Summit’s agenda features many similaritieswith the priorities defined by Vietnam and the APEC during APEC Year 2017, whichserves as the foundation for G20 and APEC to connect their agenda prioritiesand enhance regional and global cooperation in handling global issues.

Both forums aim to promote inclusive and sustainable development, strengthen trade and investment linkages, encourage innovation, and seek cooperationin handling climate change and solutions to socio-economic-labour-employmentissues in the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

It is also noteworthy that nine among G20 countries are members of theAsia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, which is also a favourablecondition for the two forums’ coordination.

The fact that Vietnam, as host of APEC Year 2017, is invited to the G20Summit demonstrates the position and role of APEC in the regional and global administrationsstructures. It also shows that Vietnam is emerging as a reliable and responsiblepartner in the international community.

Ahead of the G20 Summit, Vietnam has attended related conferences and activelyparticipated in the building of the agenda for the upcoming G20 Summit slatedfor July 6-7 in Germany.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will visitGermany and attend the G20 Summit in Hamburg from July 5-8 at the invitation ofGerman Chancellor Angela Merkel. -VNA
