The Committee on Trade andInvestment (CTI) will discuss free trade agreement (FTA) negotiation skills oncompetition and capacity building for quality infrastructure investment in therapidly urbanising APEC region. The Anti-Corruption on Transparency Working Group (ACTWG) will hold adialogue on the fight against corruption and smuggling. Meanwhile, the AutomotiveDialogue (AD) – Workshop will focus on implementing the APEC Electric VehiclesRoadmap. August 19 also marks the second working day of other APEC sub-committeesand groups such as the Sub-Committee onCustoms Procedures, the Sub-Committee onStandards and Conformance, the TransporationWorking Group andthe Experts Group on IllegalLogging and Associated Trade. In the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, the APEC 2017 Food Security Week willcontinue with the Climate Symposium on Building Resilient Agro-Food SystemsFrom Production to Consumption – Interdisciplinary Approaches for SustainableFood Security Using Climate Information.
The delegates will further debate challenges for water and food securityin the context of climate change in the APEC region, and agriculturalbiotechnology.
