HCM City (VNA) – The impactof government policy instruments on promoting new energy vehicles was the maintopic of the APEC 2017 Automotive Dialogue (AD)-Workshop in Ho Chi Minh City onAugust 18.

Delegates at the event discussed strategies and practices of e-scooterpromotion in Chinese Taipei, along with status and trend of new energy vehiclepolicy in China.

They also compared automotive tax polices used to promote new energy vehiclesin the APEC region.

The APEC Automotive Dialogue (AD) serves as a forumfor regional officials and senior industry representatives to work together tomap-out strategies for increasing the integration and development of theautomotive sector within the region.

The event is part of the ongoingthird APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM 3) and related meetings in HCM City.

Slated to last until the end of the month, the third SOM 3 will feature 75meetings, seminars, and dialogues involving four committees and dozens ofworking groups of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). -VNA
