Hanoi (VNA) – Malaysia will chair a virtual senior officials'meeting of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies, its Ministry ofInternational Trade and Industry said on May 21.

𝓀 The meeting, scheduled on May 27, will focus onoperationalisation of the APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade statement onCOVID-19 and will discuss issues related to economic recovery, while ensuringthat the efforts already in place to mitigate the health impact of the outbreakcontinue to yield positive results.

Earlier this month, the APEC Ministers Responsible forTrade issued a statement calling for greater cooperation among participatingeconomies to facilitate trade as a way to combat the COVID-19 outbreak.

🉐 Apart from public sector representatives from APECeconomies, the meeting will also witness the participation of private sectorplayers through the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC)./.
