Architect Vo Trong Nghia honoured at 2020 Design for Asia Awards
Vietnam’s well-known architecture Vo Trong Nghia and his team in VTN Architects have been honoured at the 2020 Design for Asia (DFA) Awards for their project “Stepping Park House” located in Ho Chi Minh City.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s well-known architect Vo Trong Nghia and histeam in VTN Architects have been honoured at the 2020 Design for Asia (DFA)Awards for their project “Stepping Park House” located in Ho Chi Minh City.
Theproject won a silver award for “Environmental Design” in the “Home andResidential Spaces” category.
Accordingto VNT Architects, because of the site’s proximity to a park, the house isconstructed to be an extension of its environment and have integrated luxuriantlandscape into the interior.
“Anatrium was carved out of the three-storey building, accentuating its highceiling, which provides enough sunlight and space for trees to grow indoors.The walls are covered with ivy.”

TheDFA Awards, organised by the Hong Kong Design Centre, celebrates designexcellence with Asian perspectives. Design projects are judged on four criteria– overall excellence, use of technology, impact in Asia as well as commercialand societal success.
VTNArchitects, founded by Vo Trong Nghia, now gathers 60 international architects,who work on various projects of public buildings, residential areas andcommercial centres all over the world.
Thecompany combines traditional Vietnamese building techniques, like complexbamboo trusses, perforated blocks, cooling water systems, shaded terraces, andthatched roofs.
Atthe beginning of this year, the company announced its three projects were amongwinners at the inaugural LOOP Design Awards which honours the most remarkableprojects in architecture and interior design around the world.
Oneof them is the Viettel Academy complex in Hanoi which won an award in the PublicBuildings and Institutional Category.
Theremainders, Castaway Island Resort on Cat Ba Island in the northern province ofHai Phong and Atlas Hotel Hoian in the central province of Quang Nam won HonorableMentions in the Hospitality and Hotel Category./.
The top 10 Vietnamese architectural and property developers and firms of 2018 were honoured at an annual ceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City last week by Asia’s leading construction solution provider BCI.
VTN Architects run by one of Vietnam’s leading designers Vo Trong Nghia has won three Green Good Design 2019 awards from the European Centre for Architecture, Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
