Argentine parliament receives gift from Vietnamese counterpart
The National Congress of Argentina held a ceremony on September 14 to receive 20,000 medical masks presented by the National Assembly of Vietnam to help the country battle COVID-19.

Buenos Aires (VNA) – The National Congress of Argentina held aceremony on September 14 to receive 20,000 medical masks presented by theNational Assembly of Vietnam to help the country battle COVID-19.
Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina DangXuan Dung described the gift as support from Vietnam to Argentina’s fightagainst COVID-19.
He spoke highly of measures applied by the Argentine government to curb thespread of the coronavirus in the community, while expressing his belief that withdetermination and efforts made by the government and parliament, Argentina willsoon overcome the pandemic and bring people’s life back to normal.
Vietnam will continue to closely cooperate and share information and experiencewith Argentina in a joint effort to promptly bring COVID-19 under control, and minimisenegative impacts caused by the pandemic.
In reply, Administrative Secretary of the Argentine Senate Maria Luz Alonso expressedher gratitude to the Vietnamese Government, NA and people for their gift toArgentina amid the pandemic.
She underlined that it is a vivid manifestation for traditional friendship andcooperation of the two countries, while pledging to further promote thebilateral relations for the sake of the two peoples./.
Vietnamese Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai on July 9 met with Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Martin Chungong and handed over medical masks which are a gift from the country’s National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan for the IPU Secretariat.
Vietnam Ambassador to Myanmar Ly Quoc Tuan on July 13 presented 50,000 USD as a gift of the Vietnamese Government to help the country combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Embassy of Vietnam in Venezuela on August 27 handed over medical equipment to the host country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with 20,000 face masks from the Vietnamese National Assembly to the Venezuelan counterpart.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Pham Thi Bich Ngoc on August 31 presented aid worth 20,000 USD from the Vietnamese Government to help the Government and people of the Maldives fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
An exchange note on a non-refundable aid for COVID-19 prevention and control was signed between the Vietnamese and Japanese governments on September 7.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
