Hanoi (VNA) – An art programme was held in Hanoi on June 5 to mark the 76th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s appeal for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948-2024).
Themed “Vietnam – aspiration to rise”, the event helped raise public awareness of patriotism and great national solidarity, particularly among young people, and encourage them to devote and contribute to the breakthroughs in the nation’s construction, renewal, and international integration.
It featured songs that extol patriotism, devotional spirit and national construction, and documentaries on the national resistance war.
At the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy stated that 76 years have passed but the late leader’s appeal lives on, helping promote the patriotic emulation among the Vietnamese even in peace time to build a stronger and more prosperous nation.

“Emulation is patriotic, those that are patriotic must emulate. And those who emulate are the most patriotic ones”, President Ho Chi Minh made the call for patriotic emulation 75 years ago.
Li Minghan, a scholar from Hong Kong (China) who has spent years studying Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, has shared his views on the patriotic emulation movement which was launched by the Vietnamese late leader 75 years ago.
An exhibition spotlighting patriotic emulation movements through different periods opened at the Vietnam National Museum of History in Hanoi on June 9.
In Vietnam’s case, she said, President Ho Chi Minh demonstrated his strategic vision by founding the revolutionary press a century ago. The late leader understood the press's role not only as a means to reflect the country’s realities but also as a powerful tool to strengthen national unity and inspire the resistance wars and national construction process.

Today, the press for foreign service has evolved into a distinct, irreplaceable force, bridging Vietnam with the world and portraying a nation that is stable, peace-loving, and fully integrated into the international community.
At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
The VNA delegation, led by General Director Vu Viet Trang, actively participated in the event, engaging in both professional and diplomatic activities.
