Indonesia, in the status of ASEAN chair, is arranging meetings fordefense ministers and border chiefs of Cambodia and Thailand, accordingto Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.
PM Hun Sen revealed the information during a visit to some 500 disabledsoldiers and their families in Chhouk district of Kampot province onMar. 5.
PM Hun Sen said that Indonesian foreign minister Marty M.Natalegawa was preparing for meetings of Cambodia-Thai General BorderCommittee and Joint Border Committee on Demarcation for Land Boundary(JBC) in Jakarta , Indonesia . Cambodia welcomed the action bythe ASEAN Chair and expressed his belief that Indonesia would be thereferee, and the country needs to take notes of every agreement betweenCambodia and Thailand .
Earlier, on Mar. 4, Indonesianforeign minister Marty M. Natalegawa sent a letter to Cambodian and Thaiforeign ministers and other foreign ministers of ASEAN members, sayingthat Cambodia accepted the terms of reference for the Indonesianobservers to the border disputed areas and Thailand agreed onprinciple and will consider the details in the coming time.
Accordingto the Cambodian PM, Cambodia arranged 14 places for the observersduring a period of 12 months, and the points could be added and the timecould be extended./.
